Prednisone

What is the recommended dosage of prednisone?

Many doctors who specialize in #myositis suggest an initial dosage of #prednisone which is based upon your weight in kilograms. The suggested amount is 1mg per kilogram of weight. To find out how much you weigh in kilograms, multiply your weight in pounds by .453. (Example: 150 pounds x .453 = 68mg of prednisone) Some doctors may simply start you on 60-80mg of high dose prednisone for myositis rather than using this calculation.
