#ItsMyTurn: Becoming a Plasma Donor Hero

Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 7:00 PM Eastern Time

Webinar Details

With physical distancing restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, fewer people are donating plasma now. This will cause a shortage of plasma products, such as IVIG, within the coming year. Becoming a plasma donor is one way those of us who are not on the frontlines of the battle against COVID-19 can bring some good into the world.

Join CSI Pharmacy, Myositis Support and Understanding (MSU), and the Immunoglobulin National Society (IGNS) for a webinar discussion of plasma donation and how you can be part of the #ItsMyTurn campaign.

Immunoglobulin National Society (IgNS) is a professional organization dedicated to developing and sustaining the advancement of knowledge, education, and practice of nursing and pharmacy in the field of immunoglobulin therapy.

CSI Pharmacy is a nationwide specialty pharmacy, founded by pharmacists and dedicated to providing services for patients with chronic and rare illnesses that require complex care.

May is Myositis Awareness Month

High Fives from the Heart: #MyositisLIFE in a Pandemic World

Myositis Support and Understanding (MSU), an all-volunteer, patient-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serves as the heart of the myositis community. During May, MSU celebrates Myositis Awareness Month and our 5th anniversary.  At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, MSU quickly shifted focus to how to best support the myositis community during this difficult time while still promoting awareness of our rare autoimmune diseases, the idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, collectively called myositis.

We move forward into a slightly scaled back May Awareness Month, mindful of the enormous impact the pandemic has and will continue to have on Myositis patients and caregivers. We look forward to a more robust celebration of awareness activities in September.

Education: Webinars and Events exploring the unique health issues COVID-19 presents to the community.
Support: Myositis Patient Video Support sessions providing safe and confidential places for patients and caregivers to interact.
Financial Assistance:  Providing patient financial assistance of up to $1500 for emergency household expenses and medical bills.
Advocacy and Outreach: Raising awareness of the impact of COVID-19 on myositis patients’ lives through patient stories and projects on our #MyositisLIFE website. Myositis Mask Memes – telling the story of how COVID-19 impacts #MyositisLIFE, sponsored by Corbus Pharmaceuticals.
Research:  Partnering with The Global Healthy Living Foundation to promote a deeper understanding of the impact of COVID-19 on the myositis community. Take part in the research survey.
