To kick-off Spirit Week, join Lauren and Jenna Landman, creators of the Myositis Empower Walk, and Jerry Williams and Emily Filmore from MSU as we host Stella Clapp’s daughter, Jennifer Schubert, to discuss her family’s journey with inclusion body myositis, and to learn more about Stella and her perseverance and love of the myositis community. Also joining us is “Myositis” Joe Sanchez, who will share how Stella’s goodness continues to help inspire him as he lives with inclusion body myositis.
Stella passed away earlier this year. She was such a strong, positive, and encouraging presence in our support groups, always checking in with others, sharing her experiences, and encouraging others to do so. Stella is dearly missed and through the community support she was dedicated to, and with all of her love and kindness, we are honoring her life and we feel her legacy can teach and inspire all of us to give to others, and that we too can live a meaningful life despite myositis.
We will also discuss more how you can be a part of the 3rd Annual Myositis Empower Walk, Saturday, October 2nd, in-person or via an upgraded interactive live stream.
My Mom, My Hero

My mom, Stella Clapp, was my friend and my hero. She was strong, caring, helpful, and giving. Yes, she had her challenges; (Guillain Barre with 3 young children and, years later, myositis), yet she was always loving, caring and looking to do what she could for her family and others.
